Here she is in July 2001
Nancy and I were on our way home from the mall after doing some Christmas shopping. It was a beautiful night; clear skies, and no rain. We were stopped for a traffic light in River Edge, waiting for the light to turn green. I heard a loud noise behind us, and looked into my rearview mirror just in time to see a red Ford E150 full-size van coming up pretty fast. We had nowhere to go, and then it happened. He hit us in the rear, towards the right side of the car, and with enough force to push us into the Honda Civic in front of us. She, in turn, hit the car in front of her, making this a four-car accident.
After making sure Nancy was alright, I got out, and looked around. I was stunned at the damage that was in front of me. It turns out, the guy driving the van was picking something up from the floor while he was driving (WTF!!!????) and looked up just in time to crash into us. So, here are some pics of the damage. This was a great summer car, and I'm really going to miss it.

Here's a front shot; notice the front driver's side fender is tweaked, and the nose is pushed in and down.

Here's the driver's side rear quarter. It is crumpled from the impact on the other side. This is actually the good side.

Here's the bad side. The door is seriously out of whack. Nancy had to climb out the driver's door, since hers was stuck. The rear suspension is bent as well.

Here's a rear shot. You can see the fiberglass trunk is torn, and the quarterpanel is actually folded over the top of it. Nice alignment on the door, huh? He came in far enough to damage all the convertible top mechanicals too.

This is a closeup of the damage. What else can I say?
I will miss this car. I just picked her up in June of 2001 to replace my '96 Impala SS. I needed a more sensible car to commute to work, and this was the ticket.
